I have substituted the (16x1) LCD that has a 2x7 header for a new LCD (16x1) that uses a straight 16 pad configuration (the 16x1 LCD with a 2x7 header is no longer available). The new LCD is easily used by spreading the ribbon cable and soldering it to the LCD (the pin holes are in order with the ribbon cable straight across so soldering is easy). The other end of the ribbon cable still connects to the PCB with a 2x7 header. The connection to the new LCD is easy and neat and makes a great project.   (See our disclaimer at the bottom of the page for kits sent outside the USA)

Gate speed automatically decreases to one second below 100KHz to display frequency with a resolution down to an amazing 1Hz. Must see to believe. Microprocessor-based circuitry provides for highly stable readout with no jitter. Soup up that home brewed function generator with a digital readout. Powered by a 9-volt battery (not included) or a 12VDC power pack (not included).
